Project Management Objectives

The Project Manager both acting on behalf of and representing the Client has the duty to provide a cost effective and independent service, selecting, correlating, integrating and managing different disciplines and expertise to satisfy the objectives of the project brief from inception to completion. The service provided must be to the client’s satisfaction, always safeguard his interests, and where possible give consideration to the needs of the eventual user of the facility.

The Key role of the PM is to motivate, coordinate, manage, and maintain the morale of the whole team. This function is about Managing people and its importance cannot be overstated.

It is essential that, in ensuring an effective and cost-conscious service the project should be under the direction and control of a competent practitioner with a proven Project Management track record developed from a Construction industry related professional discipline.

This person is designated the Project Manager and is to be appointed by the Client with full responsibility for the Project having delegated powers at inception the Project Manager will exercise in the closest association with the Project team an executive role throughout the Project.

Our team of directors boasts over 25 years of experience in the design and construction of turnkey data centers, specifically catering to Telcos and Colocation projects. Our unwavering focus on quality sets us apart in the industry. Engcorp is committed to ensuring that every data center building fully complies with the requirements set forth by the Uptime Institute, LEED, and International Standards (TIA 942) as necessary for each client. This includes meeting local statutory regulations for construction and renovation to ensure the creation of efficient data centers.

We provide turnkey design and project management services for data center Investors.

What the Client Needs - Today, it is expected by both ISP and Telco stakeholders that data centers must have the most efficient Building design and MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Systems) plant and equipment, (emphasis on Efficient Colling) and achieving a minimum Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE)

Design Standards

Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centers (TIA-942): This standard provides comprehensive guidelines for designing and implementing data centers. It covers aspects such as site selection, space configuration, building shell, core systems (electrical, mechanical, network, and cable plant), facility and building systems, security, and commissioning.

ISO / IEC 27001:2005 and 27001:2013 Information Security Management System Standard: While primarily focused on information security, ISO/IEC 27001 also includes requirements related to data center design and resilience. It emphasizes security measures, risk management, and business continuity planning.

Uptime Institute’s Tier Standard: Although optional, the Uptime Institute’s Tier Standard is widely recognized. It classifies data centers into different tiers based on their availability and redundancy levels. Higher-tier data centers offer greater reliability but come with higher costs2.
